Magnet Program at Our School

Capitol Middle Magnet’s program is designed to offer interactive and collaborative courses in Game and Web Design by using science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills to promote critical thinking and to enhance problem-solving literacy in a project-oriented setting. The goals of the magnet program are to help our students develop flexible knowledge, self-directed learning, effective collaboration skills, and intrinsic motivation.

Students will be required to complete extended learning and challenge-based projects to foster collaboration and build investigative research skills. Also, students can develop standards-based multimedia digital portfolios and marketable presentations. Students will apply skills and concepts they have learned to real-world projects, service-learning and community internships which will require problem-solving, critical thinking and active engagement. Furthermore, students will learn about marketing so that they can define, design and create a model to promote their projects.​
